We proudly offer a curated collection of Persian rugs from Isfahan, woven with a luxurious blend of silk and wool. Each piece is a work of art, crafted by skilled weavers using time-honored techniques. Every rug comes with a certificate of authenticity and detailed technical information, empowering you to choose with confidence. Whether you’re a collector or a first-time buyer, our commitment to quality and transparency ensures a meaningful experience.
Each piece is appraised, ready to ship worldwide, and destined to become a cherished part of your home or collection.
Discover the elegance of Isfahan, woven into every thread.
Loom:
The loom is the wooden frame used to weave the carpet. In Persian hand-knotting, vertical looms are commonly used, especially in urban workshops like those in Isfahan.
Each silk strand is tied by hand, row by row, and pressed down with a comb-like tool. This process requires patience, precision, and years of experience.
Persian rugs design and material:
Designs: Inspired by ancient architecture, Persian gardens, medallions, and poetry.
Silk Pile: Offers a glossy, soft finish with vibrant colors.
Wool Pile: Wool pile in rugs, crafted from fine sheep wool, offers exceptional durability that beautifully complements and highlights the delicate sheen of silk accents.
Each Isfahan carpet tells a story, from the weaver’s memory, family legacy, or spiritual belief.
“Raj” or “Warp Count”:
Raj is the unit used to count the number of warps per 7 centimeters (around 2.75 inches) on the rug. A higher Raj or Warp Count number means a finer, denser, and more intricate carpet.
Single Knot:
A refined technique using one knot per warp thread, ideal for intricate, high-density designs. Favored by Isfahan weavers for silk rugs to preserve delicate detail.
Double Knot:
Wrapped around two warp threads, this method creates thicker, more durable carpets, perfect for bold patterns and everyday resilience.
Zones of an Isfahan rug:
Isfahan rugs are skillfully woven with a luxurious blend of silk and wool, with each material strategically chosen for specific areas of the design. The rug’s intricate design is composed of distinct sections: a central background, marginal background, the floral pattern, and a border zone. The fringes are an extension of the rug’s warp threads.
